2021 MOADN CONVENTION

Unfortunately, due to COVID-19 social distancing restrictions and college travel restrictions across the state, there will not be a 2021 MOADN Convention.  We know this is very disappointing and the MOADN Board of Directors wants to assure you that this decision was not made lightly. However, the safety of the students and faculty is paramount. We do anticipate seeing you all again at the MOADN 2022 Convention.

So what are we doing this spring?
Students and faculty will still be nominated for MOADN scholarship awards. Detail for the awards are found below. Winners will be notified and can attended our Virtual Awards Ceremony on April 16th. Details about the ceremony will be released at a later date. The deadline for nominations is February 15th, 2021.

There will be a free webinar for students this semester from Brett Thompson, legal counselor for the Mississippi State Board of Nursing. Mrs. Thompson addresses common legal issues that nurses face in the practice setting and explains how to avoid them. This will be pre-recorded and available for viewing on the MOADN website at a later date.

MOADN will be hosting a Faculty Virtual Workshop on April 16th featuring two fantastic experts on nursing education: Tim Bristol and Michelle Deck. These experts will tackle two very common concerns of educators: NextGen NCLEX and how to engage students in the virtual classroom. CEUs will be awarded. Registration information will be available soon. Faculty members who register for the Faculty Virtual Workshop will also have access to additional webinars with presentations from our Faculty Development and Innovative Teaching award winners from 2020; these recorded webinars will be send to registrants via secure link, will be available for an extended period of time, and will have CEUs attached. Faculty who register for the virtual workshop can look forward to up to 10 contact hours.
